1 Intervals, Major and minor

In this lesson we start with intervals and Major/minor. We’ll see that the 3rd determines the major or minor of the scale or chord. First we have to know what intervals are and what kind we have. The first 3 tabs are a bit more about theory, but we will get our hands dirty on them in the rest of the tabs.

All about the basic chords, major, minor, inversions… We will learn the triads on the violin in the 1st position of D, A and G. A different approach to a basic improvisation are knowing what chords are coming. Other than playing by ear, we will use the chord notes and work with chord-stacks This will be used in the Blues exercises of the next tabs.

We emphasise the chord by playing its notes, but we can make more of a melody by playing notes in between too.
