Xander speelt geen viool, hij zingt ze... én hij leert jou hetzelfde doen, met hart en ziel. Xander is meer dan een vioolleraar... Hij geeft je zin in muziek. Ik ben als volwassene begonnen met vioolspelen via de Suzuki-methode, met weinig notenleerkennis, en toch sleurt hij je erdoor. Hij doet je de muziek voelen en ademen, en leert je tegelijk de technische kneepjes van het vak. In elke muziekstijl is hij thuis en technisch sterk onderlegd. Zijn online methode (video’s en boek) is zo opgebouwd dat je ook als autodidact kan groeien, met heerlijk speelbare liedjes om je techniek stap voor stap op te bouwen.

Ik volg zelf wekelijks 1 op 1 viool les bij Xander Nichting. Xander is een viool leraar vol passie en met pakken ervaring. Zijn cursus heeft een goede structuur en stapsgewijze aanpak. Hij heeft een sterk observatievermogen en inspirerende houding. Ik zie een muzikale duizendpoot: hij kan muziek schrijven, arrangeren, spelen, dirigeren, in beeld brengen, ... This is the third year my daughter has been learning violin with Mr. Nichting, and we truly feel so lucky to have him as her teacher. He has a wonderfully untraditional and unique teaching style — children start playing songs right from the beginning, so the fun starts immediately. The videos on his website are excellent tools for practice at home. They help reinforce what the students learn in class and make it easy for parents to follow along too. What we appreciate most is how Mr. Nichting brings out the creativity in young children. He encourages them to play freestyle and express themselves through music, which keeps them engaged and inspired. And just when you think the lessons might be too relaxed, he also ensures there’s good structure and discipline — especially when students forget to practice! He’s also very involved in organizing orchestras and group performances for his students. My daughter is still a bit too young to join, but it looks like a wonderful and fun experience for when she’s ready. We are very grateful for his guidance and the joy he brings to learning violin. I was fortunate to have a 1 on 1 session with Xander. He was very patient and encouraging. Since that master class, I've been inspired to advance my skillset and discover various techniques that would be ideal for the stage. As I write this review, I'm literally typing with one hand and holding my violin with the other, because I'm too excited to take a break from practicing. The improvisation course is certainly one that many violinists can benefit from, whether you're a total beginner, or seasonal player, and it definitely helps to break the stereotype that violin players can only perform classical music.

Ik (46 jaar) ben pas begonnen met viool. Ik twijfelde of de online improvisatiecursus iets voor mij was en of ik het het waard zou vinden. Maar ik heb het toch gedaan, en geen spijt! De videos zijn heel toegankelijk en het grote voordeel is dat je het kan blijven herhalen totdat je onder de knie hebt en dan weer door naar de volgende les. Op je eigen tempo dus. Ik had pas een vraag, ik vond de 'meespeelmuziek' te snel en vroeg of er een langzamere versie toegevoegd kon worden. Xander reageerde direct en heeft het toegevoegd waardoor ik het nu beter kan oefenen, heel fijn! Verder goede uitleg, ook over theoretische kant zoals opbouw akkoorden etc, interessant.
