2 – Having A “Conversation”

When we start a conversation we don’t literally know what we are going to say, or what is going to be said to you.
That is only if, for example, we read out a script with dialogue.
Compare this to playing sheet music, everyone has their own written score.

So when you start a conversation, you are actually improvising!
It’s that simple, so you can improvise!

Now on the violin… we’re going to have a chat.
We will build this up slowly.

Improvising can perhaps be compared to learning a new language.
First you learn the basic words, then you expand it, at a certain point you can already have your first conversation.

That’s how we’re going to build up the improvisation.
I invite you to a musical conversation!
